Natural or human-made: The Earthquake in Haiti in 2010 is a natural disaster, not man-made.

# killed: An estimated 250,000 people died.

# injured: At least 300,000 people were injured.

Property damage: After the 2010 disaster, the Haitian government estimated that more than 208,000 buildings were damaged, 105,000 were destroyed and 44 public buildings had collapsed. In 2010, the Inter-American Development Bank estimated that the earthquake created between $7.8 billion and $8.5 billion in damage.

When it happened: It happened on the afternoon of January 12, 2010.

Where it happened: The earthquake happened in Haiti where epicenter was near the town of Léogâne (Ouest) and approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital. 

Why it happened: The earthquake was generated by contractional deformation along the Léogâne fault, a small hidden thrust fault discovered underneath the city of Léogâne. 

How it happened: The earthquake resulted from the slippage of rock upward across its plane of fracture of the Léogâne fault.

Why it could happen again: Yes, the Earthquake in Haiti in 2010 could happen again if the fault line will move. And it's a natural disaster, thus it's inevitable to happen.

The most interesting thing about it: This earthquake was the most devastating natural disaster ever experienced in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. 

"2005 Pakistan Earthquake"

Natural or human-made: The 2005 Pakistan Earthquake is a natural disaster.

# killed: More than 80,000 people perished as a result of the quake.

# injured: Approximately 38,000 were injured.

Property damage: It is estimated that more than 780,000 buildings were either destroyed or damaged beyond repair.

When it happened: It happened on October 8, 2005.

Where it happened: It happened on the Kashmir region (a disputed territory controlled in part by Pakistan and India), along with sections of Pakistan, India and Afghanistan.

Why it happened: Kashmir lies in the area of collision of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates. It occurred within the Hazara-Kashmir syntaxis of the Himalayan fold belt. And where the Balakot- Bagh fault moved which caused the earthquake to happen.

How it happened: The Kashmir earthquak measuring 7.6 on the richer scale took place shortly after 8:50 a.m. local time and was centered about 12 miles northeast of Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan-administered Kashmir. 

Why it could happen again: Yes, the 2005 Pakistan Earthquake could happen again if the fault line will move. And it's a natural disaster, thus it's inevitable to happen.

The most interesting thing about it: Pakistan's earthquake was the worst natural disaster since the December 26, 2004, tsunami, in which 300,000 perished.
