• Stainless and aluminised steel muffler has a high quality, good performance and greater longetivity compare to mild steel mufflers.
• It has greater resistance to corrosion and rusting.

3. Explain how exhaust headers increase the engine's volumetric efficiency?

• Exhaust header improve efficiency by preventing exhaust flow of one cylinder from interfering with the exhaust flow of the another cylinder. Cylinder next to one another may release exhaust gas at about the same time. When this happens, the pressure of the exhaust gas from one cycle can interfere with the flow from the other cylinder. With seperate headers, the cylinder are isolated from one another, interference os eliminated and the engine breathes better.

• The main purpose of catalytic converter is to act as a treatment device to reduce the exhaust emissions outside the engine.
• It converts toxic byproducts of combustion to less toxic substances by performing catalysed chemical reactions.
