Why are learning about child-parent emotional attachments so important?

 

Children are naturally dependent. Their development normally depend on their relationship with people around them. Since parents are mostly the primary people involved in a child's life, the fundamental growth of that child will base on his relationship with his parents. By learning about patterns on child-parent emotional attachments, it would provide an explanation as to why children acts a certain way. Also, it would help us determine how much does their closeness affect the child's physical, psychological, behavioral, and developmental wellbeing. In diagnosing pediatric complications, one of the factors being considered is the child's attachment to his parents.
