Current Event Updates: Each student is required to submit 5 current events during the semester. Sources must be recent and on issues related to healthcare financing. Current events must come from 1 each of the following sources: Newspaper, internet article, health care magazine or journal, television commentary/editorial and the student's choice can come from any of the previously identified sources. All current events, including student's choice, must relate to healthcare financing topics. Do not just copy the article, but rather provide an overview of what the article is about using the format below. Current events submittals cannot be from articles/publications/televised programs dated prior to October 1, 2020. Due dates are listed in the syllabus. Check the syllabus outline section for due dates. Current Event Submission Format (limit to 1 ½ pages) Title of Article Name of Newspaper, Publication or Televised Program Date of Publication or Date Program Aired Name of Author/Presenter/Program Main Point Raised & how it relates to the financial management of health care systems Summary/Overview/Highlights Conclusion (focus on such things as agree/disagree/more questions/is the problem solved/government should intervene, your suggestions for a solution) Please note, that if the CE is missing any of the above components it will be given a grade of zero.
