Subject:PsychologyPrice:2.86 Bought9

You are the mayor of a remote town. You learn that a massive storm is heading your way and could shut down your town for days. The supplies on the supermarket shelves are sufficient to supply everyone IF everyone rations.

Should you make an announcement that a MASSIVE storm is coming and running the risk that the supermarket shelves with be emptied even earlier leaving too many people out of luck OR make a "soft" announcement encouraging citizens to purchase only the appropriate necessities OR don't make an announcement at all?

  1. What would you do if you were the mayor? How would you handle this situation? Explain your answer.
  2. Apply Integrity and social responsibility to your decision.

  1. Make a "soft" announcement encouraging citizens to purchase only the appropriate necessities.

Step-by-step explanation

Given the situation as a mayor it means that my responsibility is making sure that everyone in town will be able to survive and have all of their necessities specially in this kind of situation and so the first option is out of the option since saying a MASSIVE storm is coming might cause panic and will cause shortage of supplies because of panic buying the last option is much worst because not making any announcement is like putting the people on the front lines without any weapons and completely unprepared is like a metaphor for suicide social responsibility suggest that as an official one should fulfill his or her civic duty and the last option seems like full on neglect and so i ended up choosing the second option although this is not the best course of action this is the best among the three i will be able to fulfill my duty as a mayor and the choice will benefit the people in surviving the storm but personally if the options are not provided i believe the best thing to do during this situation is to tell the people that there is a storm coming and so i will suggest that they go and buy all of their necessities but at the same time give orders to the supermarket to limit the amount of goods that they will sell for each individual/ household to avoid shortage for example the number of canned goods and water bottles in such way everyone will be prepared and well supplied.
