A weakness in my own skill set is organization. There are certain items that are required to be completed every day, every week, and every month. I get wrapped up in other things going on and don’t always get those items completed, then I have to go back and get those completed only to have to do another for the next week. Organizing my time and knowing what I need to complete each day is a challenge for me. London and Mone state that in order for a leader to successful, he must plan and schedule work (2012, 2.2).

The company I work for offers many leadership classes, videos and webinars to continue our education as a leader and learn how to effectively lead and manage the people that work for us. They also pay for our continuing education to get a bachelors, masters and even a PHD in business. Continuing education is needed for all leaders and is it learned in many different forms. David Kolb proposed a cycle for learning that says we go through this cycle of learning from active participation, observation of others, experiences, and experimentation (London & Mone, 2012, 2.4) This cycle encompasses the most effective way to learn and grow as a leader.
