Political Stakeholder : Government.

i) Discuss how the political stakeholder influenced nursing practice.

• The government has has planned to improve openness about care failings by ensuring providers abide by this as a requirement of registering with the Care Quality Commission. Professionals who attempt to prevent others from performing their statutory duties (such as raising concerns about care) will be breaching their professional responsibilities and the NMC, General Medical Council and other professional bodies have been asked to make this clear.

ii) Identify and discuss at least one key positive impact as a result of the political stakeholder's influence.

• Purchase of healthcare materials.

Through government intervention in nursing, it has provided healthcare material such a machines which has improved the easier service delivery to the patients.

• Access of quality care for vulnerable population.

Through the government intervention, the vulnerable population are now able to access the medical services which were very hard for them to get. Some have received National Health Insurance Funds (NHIF) cover through the government.

• Nursing shortage. Sometimes, the government may fail to hire more nurse to assist in hospital nurses inadequacy thus making the services needed in hospital unable to be fully rendered.

• Image of the nursing profession impacts to the recruitment of students, the view of the public, funding for nursing education and research, relationships with health-care administrators and other health-care professionals, government agencies, and legislators at all levels of government. All these make the nursing practices be done perfectly to serve the needs of the patient in a fully professional ways.

• Introduction of hospice programs. The historical nursing figures influenced the the development and the improvement of hospice that ensured provision of health services to the people within the community.

• Poor skills obtained. Some of the historical nursing figures influenced the nursing negatively since some of the historian in nursing were not fully skilled to address fully the needs of the nursing sector.
