By using criteria such as Balridge's criteria, one can ensure that an organization can be organized in such a way that is helpful and productive for both the employers and employees. Organizational culture refers to the attitudes and feelings of the employees and when organizational culture is positive, employee productivity will increase helping the overall company. When employees understand the organizational culture and it is a positive one, their behavior will be in line with the organization itself which shapes employee perceptions and behaviors. Among successful companies, organizational culture is the common denominator, with leaders who demonstrate their organization's values and cultures in their everyday lives. There is the argument that "we are what we do" and this is important in organizational culture because an organization that has daily good practices builds upon this foundation. By assessing organizational culture needs through criteria, one can pinpoint areas of improvement. One can figure out which behaviors to emphasize and de-emphasize to shape an organization's culture for the better.
