genetic code is the sequence of bases in DNA. it determines all characteristics manifested in human beings. Sickle cell anemia is genetic disorder. it is due the production of abnormal hemoglobin, called HbS. red blood cells are normally flexible. But with defective hemoglobin it takes a sickle shape. this is due to the change in the genetic code producing hemoglobin. specifically the mutation of the genetic code happens in HBB gene. it is gene responsible for producing beta globin. defects in the genetic code leads to production of HbS causing a genetic disorder.
