You are working in IT department of a public sector university company in Karachi. You are asked by your Head of the Department to develop a Project Charter for approval by the Board Members for establishing a Computer Graphics Lab of 100 computers (iMAC or MACpro). The Lab is to be built within a Large Hall, already build at the roof top of Engineering Building. The design of the Lab on Auto-Cad needs to be developed first. Then you need to figure out what could be the possible scope of work for establishing this computer graphics lab, starting from the civil works till configuration of legitimate graphics software on the newly procured branded desktops. The relevant Lab staff also needs to be trained on Graphics Software installed so that they can assist the students. The University has allocated PKR 20 Million for this project and it has to be completed within 4 months' time frame, starting from December, 2020. You have been assigned as the Project Manager for this project and allowed to have three team members.

A) Develop a Project Charter Document comprises of the following headings.

1. Project title: Establish a computer lab for 100 computers
2. Overview/Benefits: to make users aware of the modern computer graphics and machine vision including collaborative work, laboratory setting and specific applications installed
3. Scope of work: provide safe environment to ensure healthy and safe workplace. To provide the developers with designing facilities to get client approval before proceeding with the work to be done.
4. Project Stakeholders: They include the IT specialists, technicians and the manager
5. Budget: depends on the price of the required 100 computers with their installation and the license of the software to be used.
6. Project Sponsor: The university has allocated PKR 20 million for the project
7. Project Team Members: Project manager, lab technician, IT specialist and graphic expert.
8. Timeline: to be completed in 4 months starting December 2020
9. Milestones: The setup to be completed in no more than 4 months.

Note that the stakeholders in the given is duplicated (4 & 7) which makes the total 9 points in part A.

1. Project Objectives: To make all members aware about the various modern computer graphics and machine vision including the collaborative work, laboratory settings, specific applications. The primary objective is to provide a safe working environment based on the occupational health and safety measures.
2. In-Scope Activities: lab design and networking, establish a testing team, install Autocad software, training and debugging the lab
3. Out-Scope Activities: lab maintenance, commissioning of the lab and development of the computer lab and user policy.
4. Project Deliverables: Finalized documentation and lab design with installing 100 computers.
