There are several different types of rhyme schemes, but I'll just cover the basics!

Example 1)The cat is brown, The golden crown. The brown dog, The fat log. See how brown and crown rhyme? And how dog and log rhyme? The rhyme scheme would be: aabb. "A" represents the last word on the first line: brown. Then, you look to next line. Since the next line's last word rhymes with brown, you will also mark it "a". If the second line DIDN'T rhyme with brown, you would mark it "b". You keep going through the whole alphabet, or until you finish the poem. Some poems don't rhyme. These are called free verse poems. If you want to learn more about those please ask me!
