This question is was on my Chapter 7 Test on Solutions in Chem 100. I know the correct answer which is 30 but I just need explanation because everytime I retry this question on my own I get lost. Please help:

Imagine you are working in a laboratory on a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 and a particular procedure requires that you first prepare 200 mL of 150 mM sucrose solution. You look on the shelf above your bench and locate a stock 1 M sucrose solution. What volume of the concentrated stock 1 M sucrose do you need to dilute in water to produce your desired solution? (HINT: Give your answer in milliliters, without units, and "mM" means "millimolar", which is "millimoles/liter")

You need to use the dilution formula, which is

C1V1 = C2V2

Where:

C1 = 1 M

V1 = ?

C2 = 150 mM = 150x10-3 M

V2 = 200 mL

(Don't be confused witg C2, just convert your mM to M, to make calculation easy. Use the convention, 1 M = 1x10-3 mM).

You can now calculate your V1 (which is the unit is in mL).
