Initially, the trans-pacific partnership enhanced a political influence from the North American continent to Asia and the globe. It was reassuring to the United States' rivals and allies that it was a multi-national power that was anchored fully to the region and in a position to allocate noble institutions to the region. However, this is not the case after the United States, under Donald Trump's leadership, pulled out of the partnership. The other countries that are still members, the partnership closed the governance gap in these regions and brought the nations together for development. After the departure of the United States from the Trans-pacific partnership, the countries still uphold their connection. There is still an alliance among the present member countries, as China may step in to fill in the U.S position.
