Rectal adenocarcinoma
- It refers to a type of adenocarcinoma that usually arises from the epithelium layers of the cells which lines the large intestine.It becomes common with increase in age .
What are its causes
- The risk of developing rectal adenocarcinoma increases with the with the increase in age of a person. This diseases forms when the DNA in cells in the colon or rectum develop mutations that may make them unable to the process of growth ad development.Mostly these mutated cells die or are attacked by the immune system but some escape the immune system and out of control forming a tumor in the colon or rectum. Other risks that may cause the disease include:diet containing less fibre and high in red and processed meat, smoking of tobacco and excessive use of alcohol.This disease can also be hereditary in a family.

- Being overweight increases the risk of developing rectal adenocarcinoma.

- When the disease is not treated it spreads to the wall of the bowel, and later to the liver and lungs
