Scores of two golfers for 25 rounds were as follows
Golfer A: 74 75 78 72 77 79 78 81 76 72 72 77 74 70 78 79 80 81 74 80 75 71 73 72 71
Golfer B: 86 84 80 88 89 85 82 79 80 76 86 89 83 88 86 81 87 82 85
Compare the two sets of data using any appropriate graph. Justify the choice of the graph. Interprete the data
The following table shows the scores of two golfers (i.e., golfer A and golfer B) for 25 rounds:
Golfer A | Golfer B |

75 | 84 |
78 | 80 |
72 | 88 |
77 | 89 |
79 | 85 |

Now, we have to compare the two sets of data by using any appropriate graph.
Graph:
Figure 1 is the multiple bar diagram that helps to compare the two sets of data, where the blue bars denote the scores of golfer A and the orange bars denote the scores of golfer B.
Justification:
Before explaining the justification of the graph, we have to know about the bar diagram and the multiple bar diagram.
Bar diagram comprises a number of equidistant rectangles (termed as bars), each of them being meant for some specific category of the available data. Bars of common width are drawn on the base line, the length or height of a bar representing the value of the corresponding category. Bars may be vertical or horizontal, depending the nature of the data.
Multiple bar diagram is a variant of the bar diagram which is used to compare two or more series of data on the same variable or for showing different components of an item.
So, multiple bar chart is an extension of simple bar chart.
When we have to compare two or more series of data on the same variable, then we can apply multiple bar diagram. For the comparison purpose, I chose the multiple bar diagram.
Interpretation:
In the figure 1, we can see that every blue bar is shorter than orange bar (except the 18th round). In every round, the golfer B has scored more (except the 18th round) than golfer A.
So, after comparing these scores we can conclude that overall golfer B has scored more than golfer A.
I have got the graph by using Excel.
Steps:
1. After putting the values, go to 'Insert'.
2. Click on 'Insert Column or Bar Chart'.
3. In the '2-D Column' category, click on 'Clustered Column'.
