The fibers from the book depository can be used to determine the origin against the suspect's clothing. Upon finding the fibers I would ensure to photograph them, collect and package the fibers in a paper envelope and then seal them accordingly. In the laboratory, these fibers should be examined using an infrared spectrometer to examine the color, size and texture of the fibers which can then be compared to a suspect sample. Once examining the fibers from the suspect's clothing using the same method, I would be able to determine if the evidence sample matches the suspect sample. This is important to the case because it can help determine if the suspect was in the book depository where the evidence was found.
