America is divided by two clashing views about how much individuals can be held responsible for their situation. The liberals believe that people are not completely responsible for the situations they are in because their capability is limited by either their class, race or sex .The resulting distribution of outcomes is therefore seen as unjust, and the remedy is for government to help offset the limits people face. On the contrary, conservatives believe that individuals have full control over the situations they are in and should therefore be responsible for their actions .In this case, government's intervention is not needed because the distribution of outcomes is considered to be just.
