The American foreign policy is characterized, first of all, by an extremely important device and machinery in so far as one has to deal with a diplomacy that became global at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a multi-sectoral diplomacy that is developing in a whole series of areas being one of the absolutely fundamental elements of the concept of superpower. The President being at the center of supervising all the functions of the government, must always consult these departments in relation to the initiatives of policing. Some which are essential in foreign policing and implementation are discussed below.

The Congress (House and the Senate). It is Congress that has the power to declare war and put an end to it through the ratification of treaties, as well as giving the army the financial and logistical means to function. Its function in implementation of foreign policy is that it ratifies the appointments in all federal administrations and in particular the Secretary of State who is a key post in foreign policy. The Congress also, through the Foreign Affairs Committee, can deal with a whole series of issues, including the hearing of administrative officials. The Senate and Congress also regulate immigration.

Another key player mentioned above is the Department of State. This is very crucial because it could divide the federal administration in the implementation of foreign policy. The Secretary of State has six under-secretaries who must negotiate among themselves. Policy planning Staff is the governing body. There are a whole series of floors that make the implementation of this complex policy complex.

The other is the National Security Council (NSC)-It is another organ for implementation of US foreign policy, that was created by the National Security Act in 1947. It is a restricted body for the necessary coordination of foreign policy organs in a Cold War context. Its limited composition will grow rapidly. It is an organization that will soon overshadow the Department of State because it has more direct access to the president involved in the implementation of major US foreign policies from the 1960s onwards.

A school of thought, or intellectual tradition, is the perspective of a group of people who share common characteristics of opinion or outlook of a philosophy, discipline, belief, social movement, economics, cultural movement, or art movement. Several schools of thought have been adopted to the approach of understanding human behavior, relations and how best to improve the human conditions, since the earliest times as the world was becoming civilized.

Of the commonly seven advanced schools of thought, the humanistic psychology best fits to be adopted by the United States, in order to realize a transformation in the countries foreign policy and relations. These school of thought came into fame during the early 1960s in the US, during the "human potential" movement. The US foreign policy seems to be centrally driven by self-interest, as opposed to love, esteem and self-realization. This is especially when it comes to the US's restrictions on immigration, which is posed as bringing unnecessary fluctuations in population and unwanted competition between its citizens and the immigrants, as well as its intervention into foreign matters, basically with the aim of proving superiority or dominating foreign resources. The humanistic psychology opposes the concept of self-interest and proposes those of self-actualization (to become one nation), self-maintenance (to keep on being one nation) and self-enhancement (to transcend the status quo). These will possibly eliminate the element of the US disrupting its relations with foreign countries.
