GETTING STARTED

Open the file SC_PPT19_4a_FirstLastName_1.pptx, available for download from the SAM website.

Save the file as SC_PPT19_4a_FirstLastName_2.pptx by changing the “1” to a “2”.

If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.

To complete this SAM Project, you will also need to download and save the following data files from the SAM website onto your computer:

Support_PPT19_4a_Class.jpg

With the file SC_PPT19_4a_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

PROJECT STEPS

As the Office Manager for the Oceanside Care Home, you have developed a presentation describing a new fitness program for ambulatory patients. Begin by modifying the Gallery theme in the presentation as follows: Change the theme fonts to Franklin Gothic.

View the Slide Master and then make changes as follows:

Select the Gallery Slide Master.

Change the background style to Style 12.

Change the font size of the Master title style to 36-point.

Rename the Title and Content layout Benefits. (Hint: Do not include the period.)

With the Benefits layout still displaying, draw a Picture content placeholder anywhere on the slide master and then modify it as follows:

Change the height of the Picture content placeholder to 1.0".

Change the width of the Picture content placeholder to 1.5".

Position the Picture content placeholder near the top right corner of the slide master as shown in Figure 1.

With Slide Master view still displaying, insert a new slide master and format it as follows.

Rename the Title and Content layout Fitness. (Hint: Do not include the period.)

Delete the content placeholder from the Title and Content layout in the new Fitness master.

Change the slide background to the Parchment texture.

Insert the picture Support_PPT19_4a_Class.jpg.

Crop the picture to the oval shape.

Position the cropped picture at the right side of the slide as shown in Figure 2.

Close Slide Master view.

Apply the Fitness layout from the Fitness master to Slide 6 ("Class Schedule").

On Slide 2 ("Program Goals"), apply the Benefits layout. (Hint: Benefits may already appear as if it has been applied, but you will need to re-apply Benefits to see changes.)

With Slide 2 ("Program Goals") still displaying, insert the file Support_PPT19_4a_Hands.jpg in the Picture placeholder.

Hide Slide 3 ("Benefits of Functional Fitness") so that it does not appear during a presentation.

On Slide 4, change the theme to Office for that slide only.

On Slide 5 ("Classes"), change the slide background to a pattern fill as follows:

Apply the Vertical stripes: light pattern.

Change the foreground color to Dark Red, Accent 4, Darker 25%.

Change the background color to Dark Red, Accent 4, Darker 50%.

Adjust the timing for Slide 6 ("Class Schedule") so that it advances after 00:06.00.

On Slide 7 ("Multi-Component Exercise Regimen"), use the Thesaurus to insert the first synonym for "endurance" that appears at the top of the synonym list.

On the last slide in the presentation, modify the background as follows:

Hide the background graphics.

Insert the picture file Support_PPT19_4a_Fitness.jpg as the slide background.

Change the offset top to 0%.

Change the transparency of the picture in the slide background to 25%.

Check the spelling of the presentation and ignore all instances of a suggested spelling change to "Synergia".

In Slide Sorter view, your presentation should look like the Final Figure on the following page. Save your changes, close the presentation, and exit PowerPoint. Follow the directions on the SAM website to submit your completed project
