Do you believe that prosecution for marijuana possession in New York should be more or less rigid than it currently is? Why? 

 

I know there are states like Texas that have legalized the use of Marijuana. Places like New York city that have not legalized should put tighter measures when prosecuting cases of smoking and trafficking marijuana. If an individual is got with 28grams of weed in new York, he or she is given a fine of $50. What is this surely. It is like encouraging the criminal to continue misbehaving.People should be slapped with heavy fines that they cannot afford.

Why should prosecution be tight?

• Marijuana induces mental illnesses that are costly to treat.Such as Drug Induced Psychosis.
• Marijuana may have medicinal value, but the toxic substance in it kills brain cells and an individual does not remember things anymore.
