Calculate the Jones matrix of this system and use this to analyse its response to i) horizontal linear polarization; ii) vertical linear polarization; iii) right circular polarization; iv) left circular polarization. What is the output state in each case, using the x-axis as a reference and stating the intensity transmittance? Based on this, how would you describe this device? Please justify your answer.
