Each state has its own laws on weapon possession and gun control.There are many laws across United States that guide weapon possession. It is legal to possess a weapon but under restrictions.Proper licensing of guns is necessary.With regard to carrying weapons each state has its own laws.There exists regulations on when and when not to use a weapon.There are penalties that arise from possessing a weapon for a person who falls under categories such as drug user or addict,alien,those discharged from the military dishonorably and fugitives of justice.

There are a number of reasons why states have different gun control laws.One of the reasons is that there are no Federal laws that cover open carry and concealed permits.States such as California ,Florida and Illinois do not allow carrying of firearms publicly.The number of states with may issue conditions are nine whereas the rest have a shall issue condition.May issue states demands that one must have a permit for concealed carry whereas a shall issue state requires one to meet standardized conditions such as minimum age for gun possession.
