First understand mesh topology.

Each switch is directly connected to other switches by using ISLs. Mesh topology are of two types:-

1. Full mesh

2. Partial mesh

Question related with full mesh topology.

Then each switch needs to be connected to 16 other switch. Now 17 switch 16 ports equals 272 total ports. Now if we connect one switch with second then we use one port....now we connect all 16 switch with first switch mean we use all port of first switch. Same condition with other switch. After all switch connect with other then no free port available to connect with storage device.

We connect two switch then we use 2 port and 1 cable. It mean 272/2 = 136
