Belize relies heavily on its agriculture and tourism industries as the country's economic drivers. However, since the outbreak of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, these industries were heavily affected resulting to a negative effect in their economy. A recent report showed that the country is planning on mitigating this by looking into mobilizing their natural resources (i.e. rainforests, ecosystems, water resources) and local communities to push for an eco-tourism drive. This simply means that they are now targeting and relying on local tourists, as opposed to just international tourists, for the country's tourism.

Having said all of these, industries that are complementary of agriculture and tourism developments can be proposed. Some examples of which are:

Just like hotels & accommodation, tourists also need the wide ranging services of food & beverages industry. This is not just limited to the hotels tourists stay in. Restaurants, cafes, take aways, etc. also play an important part here.

• Transportation sector is the very base and means of tourism. Covering air, water, road and railways, transport sectors provides the means to travel to various destinations.
