Step-by-step explanation
Cystic fibrosis is a multi organ dysfunction which leads to dysfunction of the lungs. Mostly, common deaths are normally caused by cystic fibrosis in the pulmonary dysfunction. The postural drainage is the type of chest therapy which is used in treating children who are suffering from cystic fibrosis. Administering of a bronchodilator helps in opening the airway. It should be done prior to postural drainage so that it can open up the airway and help in effecting the postural drainage. Performing postural drainage is best when the stomach is emptiest. This should be before a meal or an hour and a half after a meal and it is done in a sitting position or as one lies on their back, stomach or side. The postural drainage that should be done twice a day is the one which involves percussion and vibration. Each session should take five to seven minutes in every part of the chest.
