There is need to change the qualification to become a President. My reasons are based on the fact that all people should be treated equally and it is anchored in the federal constitution by allowing non-born residents to vie for presidency.

Its my proposal that non-born citizens who have stayed in the country longer than 20 years, have no dual citizenship and have shown no disloyal to the nation should be allowed to vie. (Bulman & Metzger, 2016) . This is because they have no any other loyalty to another country. In case there is a link of disloyalty, then the person can be prevented.

Secondly, its my proposal that the age of becoming president should be reduced from 35 to 25 years. Youthful people should be

allowed to become presidents also. They have all it takes to lead and make decisions wisely. At this age, the reasoning capacity is also high and fresh compared to someone at 70 years. It therefore makes less sense to allow the aged to become president while preventing the younger generation.

Thirdly, its my proposal that the qualification requiring a president to have been a resident for 14 years to be reduced to more than 8

years (Bulman & Metzger, 2016). The period of 8 years is reasonably enough to allow an interested presidential candidate to acquire any necessary knowledge and understanding of the country. There is no proved theory to illustrate that the longer someone stays in the country the better president he or she becomes.
