Briefly explain ONE specific piece of outside information (evidence independent from document) that would support the Coulter's position on the Cherokee removal
Coulter believed that it was necessary to remove Native Americans from Georgian land because it would otherwise make the land "intolerable" and savage. He believed that it wasn't until the Indians left that Georgia could become independent and self-sufficient politically. His position was mainly political and economic. One piece of evidence that supports Coulter's position is Compact of 1802, which stated that the Cherokee land could be used for gold mining. Even after Cherokee protest, the government forced them out of the land. The Compact of 1802 supports Coulter's positions since it also states that without the removal of Native Americans there could be no prosperity or territorial independence.
