A megacity is a relatively big city with a population usually over 10 million.

The difference between megacity and city is that megacity is a very big city; a megapolis, whereas a city is a large settlement, greater than a town or a village.

Megacity has a population of over 10 million while a city has a minimum population of 100,000 people.

In Asia, the top five megacities are all located. With 19 megacities, Asia is the continent with the most megacities total (or 20 if you count Turkey as part of Asia). Five Megacities in Europe (including Istanbul, Turkey). Three megacities each are in Africa, North America and South America.
