In our discussion of the Political Economy of Communications, we looked at the important differences between 'globalization' and 'globalism'. Explain how BOTH of them are related to the Culture Industry.
With globalization in in relationship to culture industry, it helps in the promotion of the flow of cultural practices as well as norms along with cross-border exchanges of products and goods, however, both societies and organizations need to understand cultural implications of such flows in hopes for better interaction with other cultures as well as more efficient management of international organizations. Therefore , while resorting to standardized practices across cultures, organizations might need to adapt such practices in light of local cultural specificities
With globalism in relation to culture industry, it contributes to the exchange of cultural values of different countries, hence the convergence of traditions, for cultural globalization characterized convergence of business as well as consumer culture between the different countries of the world and the growth of international communication, however, such leads to the promotion of individual national cultures around the world, perhaps, the popular international cultural phenomena might displace national or either turn them into international. However, such might be considered as a loss of national cultural values as well as fight for the revival of the national culture.
