One of the main causes of tension between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R was the extreme distrust of one another. The Soviet Union thought that the U.S. wanted to takeover the world. Th U.S. also thought that the Soviet Union wanted to take over the world. Every dispute there was they saw it as a battle between right and wrong.
