How many chromosomes do humans have in their somatic cells

Human beings are diploid (2n) and their normal body cells are made up of 46 chromosomes. The 46 chromosomes are further arranged into 23 pairs, out of which 22 pairs are similar in both males and females and are referred to as autosomes. However, the remaining pair of sex chromosomes differ in males and females.

Therefore, humans have 46 chromosomes in their somatic cells.
