How does the increasing global population put strain on food security?

 

Food production is dependent on water supply and available farming land, which are strained as the population increases. Population growth puts pressure on limited land resources as the growing population clears the available land for settlement purposes. These limits the lands that are left for farming. The available farming lands are not enough to feed the urban and rural population.
