Islam originated in 610 CE during the time Muhammad was in Mecca praying and contemplating on self for several months. Muhammad received a divine message when he heard angel Gabriel's voice who was sent by Allah to deliver some of wisdom. Those words were recited by Muhammad and his disciples and were later used to make up Quran. Islam was founded on prophet Muhammad's teaching which demonstrates surrendering to Allah's will. After the return f Muhammad from the cave, he preached the new religion where many were impressed by ran verses and decided to convert to Islam at their own free will.

Islam has respect for universal values that are meant o shape frameworks of modern ethics and how we perceive the law. It dignifies humankind where the well being of an individual is respected and protected, an are allowed to make their free choices on matters affecting them. Islam does not discriminate anyone irrespective of their religion, color, or ethnicity.

Isla ha played a major role in western civilization. Western European took in Muslim ideas on science, math's, astronomy and medicine into their practices and own thinking. During the age of crusades, the Muslim brought words like artichoke, alchemy, algebra, and apricot to the west which are derived form Arabic words. The Indo-Arabic numerals (0-9) were introduced during the same period which replaced the roman numerals which in return revolutionized the capacity of people engaging in trade and science.
