Week 1 Assignment: Area Cleaning Inventory

For this assignment, you will inventory parts of your living space. Any bedroom and bathroom will do, including a dorm room. You will measure the space and draw a diagram. Then you will create an inventory for cleaning the areas, as if it was a hotel room.

1) Measure the area of the bedroom, bathroom, and living room in your living space. Draw a diagram of the three rooms as if they were connected to one another.

2) What is the total square footage of the three rooms? What types of floor covering are used in the space (wood, carpet, tile, linoleum, etc)? How many square feet of floor are covered by each type of flooring?

3) List the surfaces in the space that need to be cleaned.

4) List the items of furniture that need to be cleaned and organized.

5) Based on your inventory of these three rooms, how much time should it take to clean this area?
