Why do we need internet security.

 

We require internet security for the following reasons;

1.To protect our confidential data - it protects your information and ensure that hackers don't leak networks and access your confidential information. It does this by monitoring all the URLs being visited and checks to ensure that phishing websites you have visited that of master list of phishing website so that if they match, it blocks it or gives an alert to the user.

2. It protects the user from various kinds of threats - it protects the user's websites from being attacked for other kinds of threats like rootkits, spyware, ransomware, anti-spam programs among others. whenever there is an infected website, it identifies it, blocks or even reports it.

3. It prevents data theft - it prevents the users' data from being stolen through the internet. It protects the user's information like photos, documents, or even videos from being stolen ad being used for illicit reasons. It also protects companies and government information from being stolen.

4. It protects the user's computer from damage -  when the internet is protected, your computer will also be secure. There are those categories of hackers who like causing damage and disruption apart from stealing information. Examples include Trojans and viruses which can really destroy our computer if the internet is not protected.

5. It protects from identity theft - since most people exchange various information online, identity theft has become very common. If there is no security online, fraudsters can access a person's personal information like information on credit cards, social security number, or other personal information. They can use this information to steal from users or even take loans or enjoy other benefits using your information which puts you at great risk.
