1) What is active citizenship? How does this have an impact on your job role as a support worker?

 

Answer: Active citizenship refers to civil society, political, or community life participation which has been characterized by nonviolence and mutual respect which is in line with democracy and human rights.

Since support workers are responsible for the well-being of people who are vulnerable, active citizenship expects support workers to actively participate in community despite pandemics or violence that has been roaming as they are characterized by nonviolence and mutual respect. For instance, in the current situation, many social workers have tested positive for Coronavirus. However, active citizenship impacts my job as a support worker where it emphasizes on the need to participate wholeheartedly to the society at large.
