Shea:

I work anywhere from 60-70 hours a week, so I don't have large blocks of time for study, and as Dr. Libis pointed out, mathmatics does take more time to practice than most subjects.

I did actually research time management skills given the constraints of my routine and found a lot of useful advice. Some of it didn't really work for me, but some did. My career requires a lot of travel, and as a result of my research, I have picked up the habit of making "flash cards" and taking pictures of them on my phone. It isn't uncommon for me to be sitting on a plane or in an airport terminal looking at images of my "flash cards". The flight attendant on my last flight noticed what I was doing and suggested that there are a number of apps for our electronic devices that are fairly user friendly as study materials also.

Beyond the study tips, I've found it necessary to actually schedule time for homework like I would any meeting. I don't believe I could be successsful if I just left the time for homework as something I would fit in where I could. It actually has to go on the calendar each week. I guess, for me, its a matter of being intentional about it.
