Discussion 1: Laws, Regulations, Policies, and Procedures
You are expected to adhere to laws, regulations, policies, and/or procedures applicable to your field experience setting. At times, these might conflict with the forensic psychology ethical codes and guidelines. In this case, you should attempt to resolve the conflict taking steps, such as working with the proper authorities, to make a conscious decision of whether to follow the ethical code or the regulation, procedure, or law that conflicts (Fisher, 2009). Some field experience settings provide structured training or manuals to follow, while do not. As a forensic psychology professional, it is your responsibility to ensure you are knowledgeable about the laws, regulations, policies, and/or procedures applicable to your field experience setting as well as the steps to take if they conflict with ethical codes and guidelines.
A description of one law, regulation, policy, or procedure applicable to your field experience setting that you would find most challenging or difficult to adhere to and explain why. Then describe one that you think is of great importance in your field experience setting and explain why. Be specific.
