This journal analyzes the racism against the Asian community from the Covid -19 pandemic to their mental health. It brings forth statistical data not only from people of Asian descent who have experienced discrimination or hate crimes but people who have had adverse mental reactions from cultural symbolic reactions. The fear and stress effecting not only Asian American adults but adolescents as well. This article is very helpful to my research because it provides statistical data that aids in a different direction. Which is mental health, and the lasting effects of Covid 19 can have on the Asian community. This is a credible source because it is a scholarly article from the Official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatricians. The author, Doctor Charissa S.L Chea is a professor in the department of Psychology and Asian Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She has published other works in the medical field.

The journal article analyzes social, political, and medical similarities between HIV/ AIDS and Covid 19. It addresses the main concern of specific minority groups being targeted and unprotected not only by society but in health care policies as well. The article clearly addresses how for health equity to be achieved; the effected minority groups must be specifically addressed. This article seems to be a very useful source due to the fact it connects the HIV epidemic to Covid-19. It presents statistical data from the HIV/AIDS Epidemic and the black/Latin community. As well as statistics from the Covid 19 Pandemic. This article is credible because The Journal of Health and Disparities Research and Practice have been a globally recognized and used for their research conducted by knowledgeable professionals in the medical field. The author Gary Spinner, a physician’s assistant at the University of Lynchburg. Has spent most of his life caring and assisting people with HIV/AIDS. The article has also stated he has received insight and assistance from other professionals in the medical field. This include Doctor Robert Dubrow , Professor at Yale University School of Public Health , Medical Assistant Henry Anyimadu, , Assistant Professor at University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

The journal article analyzes how other infectious diseases that have been stated originated or associated with other countries or a specific race have been subjected to racism and ill treatment historically. However, with the labeling of Covid-19 as the “China Virus”; it created Sinophobia among many. The article describes the detrimental effects socially due to this ignorant labeling by public, powerful officials. The article closes by addressing to the World Health Organization for accountability for especially people in power for spreading such hate and racism. This source is credible because the American Journal of Public Health has been globally known and recognized by their research and analysis conducted by highly knowledgeable professionals in the medical field. The author Doctor Nahí Viladrich, is a Sociologist and Medical Anthropologist. As well as a professor at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy. This article is very helpful to my project because it highly correlates with connecting Covid-19 to stigma, discrimination, and hatred towards certain minorities, The Asian community in particular.

Covid- 19 has brought many social challenges and friction among communities. This article how this friction is reflected in professionalism, in health care particular. The three authors bring forth the stigma among not only specific minority groups but among the vaccinated and unvaccinated community as challenged health care ethics. As well as individuals who refuse to wear a mask. Therefore, negatively effecting the care and treatment in medical facilities. The article brings forth several statistical data from multiple sources of Health Care Professions who have had received formal complaints and even civil suits. This article is helpful to mt research question because it brings forth research that shows how Covid- 19 not only effects racism among certain racial backgrounds, and income, but also their freedom of choice. Covid-19 has exposed many weaknesses in not only in the United States, but the world as well. This article reveals how a divide of people who choose to exercise their civil rights are separated from others. Whether, it is a result of ignorance or lack of knowledge. This article is a credible source because the three authors are all professors at different universities in the Department of Medicine. The article also utilities a magnitude of other research and statistical data from highly acknowledged sources.
