A closer analysis at the article brings out the role of transgression and impunity in religious rituals. Some of these rituals involved the employment of substances that are prohibited under normal circumstances and considered evil by conventional, religious and social standards. As such, when an individual thinks that a myth is just an imaginary story, then it is important to agree that it should have a plot coupled with a structure of a narrative that is consistent right from the beginning till the end. It is through the myths in this article that individuals get to learn about Tantra; a clearest symbol of Hinduism degeneration in the modern era. In other words, this religion aspect affiliated to Hinduism is what defines Hinduism at its last and worst stage.
Based on the traditional position that is accorded to Tantra in Hindu religion, it is best to adapt some insights from Laborde, and argue that the ritual employment of impurity as far as religion is concerned has extensive tremendous power that tends to flow through the physical universe, the social body and the human body (website). By borrowing from readings such as Patheos, most individuals tend to be worried about the darker political comparisons of religions (website). It though comparison that it can be established that the diverse traditions and texts in religion of Hinduism known as the “Tantra” have for quite some time now had a controversial and scandalous reputation in both western and Indian imagination (Urban, 275).As such, it has been celebrated and condemned in different ways . For instance, Hindu reformers and Christian missionaries have once labeled it as “an array of magic rites drawn ……ignorant and stupid classes” (Urban, 275).
After reviewing the article, another instrumental leaning point from the article entails the role of religion as an academic discipline which entails the juxtaposition of phenomenon that are meant to generate new ideas and insights while at the same time reconfiguring individuals way of viewing the world. Most of these rituals are told in the form of myths. It is through these myths that certain values, beliefs and norms are cultivated into a certain society. In India for instance, the myth of Tantra is considered as the last and the worst of all the values of Hindu religion. Therefore, it is important for individuals to take a closer look at archaeological records, sculptures, paintings for any leads on religious leads. For instance according to Powell, “questions of the deeper meaning and truth of myth……………..have played an important role dating back to antiquity” (15).
In summary, religion values most especially the Hindu scripture offers so many practical ways that individuals can use to combat mind contamination. For example, asking oneself reasons for thinking negatively, self-examinations can help an individual to keep check of their emotions and lust. As such adhering to falsehood when an individual is well aware of the truth is an impure mid. Hence, it is important for individuals to keep truck on some of the myths about transgression behaviors
