Sociological Perspectives Guide
Functionalism, conflict theory, feminist theory, symbolic interactionism, and utilitarianism (also called rational choice theory or exchange theory) are sociological perspectives that one might use when studying human interactions in society.
The purpose of this guide is to help you determine which theory or theories best align with the social issue that interests you. Below each theory is an example of what you might do in real life using that perspective. Please note which examples interest you the most. You can select just one or all of them.
