2. Early Memory of Behavioral / Attitudinal Expectations: describe an early memory when you understood that there were particular behavioral or attitudinal expectations of you because of your gender (i.e.. how you should “act” as a girl or boy).

3. Influence of Family on Beliefs: describe how your parents or other family members influenced your beliefs about sexual orientation (who should fall in love with and expectations of marriage, children, etc.).

4. Influence of Social Circles on Beliefs: describe how your school classmates or social group friends influenced your perceptions about your sexual orientation or sexual orientation in general?

5. Learning Related to Heterosexuality: describe how you learned that heterosexuality (“straight”) was the “normal” sexual orientation.

6. Stereotypes and Source of Origin: what stereotypes about lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or trans* (“gender non-conforming”) people did you learn while you were growing up? Where did this information come from?

7. Earliest Memory of LGBTQ+ Stigmatization: describe your earliest memory of understanding that being lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or trans* people are stigmatized or discriminated against?

8. Earliest Memory of LGBTQ+ Encounter: describe your earliest memory of meeting a lesbian, gay, bisexual, and/or trans* person. What were your thoughts in that encounter?

9. Socialization Process & Disconnection: describe, to the level you feel comfortable, anytime during your socialization process when you felt disconnected from the expectations others had of you related to gender identity/expression and/or your sexual orientation.
