Practical Alternatives from Stakeholder’s Perspective

The City of Kelsey has several stakeholders who have taken an interest in the Stanley Park Project. The stakeholder may include the communities in the City of Kelsey, the Mayor or the city council, Policy analysts, or the federal government. Due to the budget cut on the police department grant enacted by the federal government, the city’s stakeholders are required to come up with practical alternatives from their point of view. In this case, the mayor would be the ideal stakeholder to offer practical alternatives that will bring out the community situation and enhance the evaluation of the program (Pirozzi, 2017).

One of the alternatives, according to the mayor’s perspective, is ensuring that the police department should have a community outreach program in the city spearheaded by the local police. The community outreach program will assist in improving the relationship between the police and Kelsey people, therefore, reducing crime rates, and in the long run, there will be a reduction in the cost of crime control in the city (“NANOPDF,” 2018). The other alternative is doing away with the non-productive projects in the city. As a result, there will be more adequate funds to facilitate the Stanley Park Project and its evaluation.

The mayor could also bring in volunteers in the actualization of the Stanley Park Project from the community and will be motivated by the benefits of the park in addition to the pride of being part of its development. In turn, the cost of hiring other individuals to take the position of the volunteers will reduce therefore accommodating the reduced funds from the federal government (“NANOPDF,” 2018). The final recommendation from a stakeholder’s perspective is appointing community representatives to air their respective community issues to the mayor and county council regarding the value of the Stanley Park Project. In this case, the mayor will be aware of the actual necessities of the people of Kelsey and know how to allocate the limited funds between the police department and the Stanley Park Project.
