An Effective Critical Thinker and Decision Making

In my opinion, I believe that critical thinking can both make decision-making easier and challenging at some point. It can make decision-making easier or more challenging. First, it makes decision-making easier since you can weigh both the disadvantages and advantages more quickly and come with the quickest decision more easily (Kamerer & Russ, 2017). Second, it can be more challenging since, at some point, one may overthink the possible conclusions, which may later hinder the final decision to be made (Kamerer & Russ, 2017). It may not be true that a successful person makes better decisions than an unsuccessful person since success sometimes comes from one’s character, interacting with the right people, having luck, and being born to succeed.

One can be successful but lacks effective decision-making skills. And on the other hand, one can be very effective in making decisions and end up being an unsuccessful person (Kamerer & Russ, 2017). A person can also be successful due to his effective decision-making skills. Therefore, being successful depends on the nature of these factors and also the application of critical thinking. For me, being a critical thinker has helped me gain more knowledge and accomplish my academic goals while in college. It has also helped me be promoted from a sales agent to a sales manager in the marketing organization that I am currently working with.
