Healthcare reforms
How do you see health care reform affecting the role of the nurse educator?
The healthcare reform regulations embrace provisions that guarantee the generation of more nurses to meet the increasing healthcare demands (Hamel et al., 2019). The laws on healthcare reformation also ensure the preparation of more highly-skilled nurses to satisfy the ageing population's needs better, experiencing more complex health glitches (Brom, Salsberry & Graham, 2018). Additionally, the healthcare reform will create more openings for the nurses to participate and lead the determination to remodel the ailing healthcare system. Nurse educators are instrumental in shaping the future of healthcare. Nurse educators are responsible for providing technical and non-technical skills to the nurses, teaching the patients preventive care, and managing medical conditions. I feel that healthcare reform is meant to embrace diversity and create ease in performing the roles of nurse educators. The healthcare reforms aimed to create a broad system and embrace cultural competency and change to ensure all nurses are highly skilled in all aspects before they transition to real-world employment. The reforms will provide nurse educators more opportunities in inspiring, teaching and mentoring the next generation of nurses in huge volumes. I also feel that the reform provisions will give the nurse educators more reasons for job satisfaction by ensuring more qualified nurses in the provision of complex care to the delicate populations. The healthcare reforms will ensure increased quality care delivery and cut nurse shortage by ensuring financial support through loans to support nursing education. The healthcare reform provides exclusive support to the nurse educators to ensure healthcare transition (Fleming & Willgerodt, 2017).
