Words & Art Mash-UP Instructions

Submission Types: ONLY WORD.DOC or PDF. Failure to upload correctly may result in a zero.

  • 1 work of Art (ART-an image): Choose a work of art from a museum, gallery or artist's website. Choose an image of a work of art: anything visual is OK (but photography preferred). Give artist, title, date, media. You must provide a clear, full color image (unless it is a black/white photograph), with this information. This should NOT be art you create.
  • 1 Poem or Song (WORDS): Choose an existing poem or song (not yours, and it must be published) that you feel relates to the work. Careful! Make sure this is your original idea and not duplicated elsewhere…I check! Give full credit to the author of the poem or the name of the musician/group who wrote the song including poem or song title. I want the full poem, song, etc. I don’t want just a link or video to the article/poem/song…I want the full-text. Don't pick a work of art inspired by a song, or vice versa and put together. This should not be a song or poem you have written. Poetry Foundation is a good resource, and music, must have words, not instrumental only.
  • Your Summary: Write a 100-250 word-summary (your words) of why you enjoyed these two pieces together and how they complement each other. Additionally, if possible, download the song, or save as an embedded link. This doesn’t replace the text of the poem, song, etc.

*PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS ON THE SIDE IF OK TO USE FOR PUBLICITY PURPOSES-TO PROMOTE THE STUDY OF ART HISTORY* THIS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!  THANK YOU*

  • MASH-UP: Merge Art + Words into one WORD document. saved as: your last name, homework example: YOUR LAST NAME-Words and Art Mash, UPLOAD ONE TIME, ONE DOCUMENT IN CANVAS. Must be uploaded as WORDDOC or PDF ONLY.
