SQIT 1013 GROUP PROJECT

You are required to develop an application for an information system for any industry of your choice (use database to store data). The information system must have more than SIX (6) forms to operate its function (excluding any splash screen or welcome screen). The system must be able to operate basic operation of storing data, edit data, display data and filter data. Bonus marks are given to groups who can manage to apply any suggestion mechanism using the data from the user for the information system. For example:

  1. An information system to store the application of UPU. The system can suggest the top five programs from the university to the student based on their qualification and interest

  2. An information system for list of Mobile Legends players. The system can suggest the best possible 7 members to form a team for a specific competition based on their statistics from the play session and their preference of play.

The group project consists of 30% Marks for the assessment. The full mark for the group project is 40. The breakdown of the marks are as follows:

  1. 15 Marks for the application:

    1. 5 Marks for interface

    2. 5 Marks for application integration

    3. 5 Marks for relevance

  2. 10 Marks for presentation which covers:

  1. Ability to apply techniques in programming to develop an information system

  2. Ability to present ideas and demonstrate programming knowledge in analysing and developing the information system

  3. Ability to provide a convincing presentation

  1. 5 Marks for peer evaluation

  2. 10 Marks for the project report

    1. Feasibility study

    2. Consisting of detailed PDLC steps in Chapter 2

    3. Significance of the application and future work

    4. GUI for every form used in the application

    5. Application codes – main function only

 

The presentation will be conducted using WEBEX (if the MCO still continues) or face to face presentation. The due is on the 14th Week of A212 semester. The report is due on the week after the project presentation.
