We are all born genetically as humans; however, sociologists argue that we have to learn how to behave like humans. Human behaviors are not necessarily instinctual. In this paper, you will explore the importance of the socialization process and what happens if someone is denied a traditional socialization process.

• Watch this video on feral children.
• Then, write a paper to respond to each of the following assignment questions. Your response to each question should be 1–2 paragraphs and supported with examples and information from your textbook or intellipath®.
  • Discuss at least 2 socialization agents that shaped who you are today, and describe what these agents taught you in terms of your behaviors and beliefs.
  • How does the concept of feral children impact your thoughts on what it means to be human? Do we have to be taught how to be human?
