1) One of the most important tips for mastering online interviews is to be well prepared. This means rehearsing many times, recording myself, and asking for feedback from family and friends to spot my mistakes so I can correct them.

The second tip is to dress appropriately for the interview because the first impression made about me will be from my appearance. This is true because in our daily lives, when we meet people for the first time, we focus on the person’s appearance first.

The strength I gained from mastering any interview is using the STAR method, in which I tell the best success story from my past that clearly demonstrates how I accomplished a task that I was faced with. This is important because it allows me to show the hiring manager that I possess the skills or abilities needed to complete a relevant task in the future. In other words, it shows that I am capable.

The other strength I gained is knowing how to end the interview on a positive note and ask smart questions. To end strongly, it is good to ask the hiring manager a smart question because this will give the impression that I really want this role after the interview, and that I show interest. Furthermore, leaving a thank you note after ending the interview will show enthusiasm.

You may be asked what you know about the company or how you see yourself fitting into that type of work environment. If you have at least the basic knowledge of their mission or views you not only go in prepared but also can understand if this position is really what you are looking for. After you do the research and agree this is the right position for you, practicing for the actual interview may be helpful. As the video expressed many times the interviewer may ask generic questions or are not trained to conduct interviews. If you practice some basic questions or if working with a recruiter, they may be able to guide you on how to answer common interview questions. The two strengths I gained while working on the worksheet was the importance of asking questions at the end of the interview and making your weakness sound positive. When you ask questions at the end of an interview it showcases your interest in the company and you may also be able to build on the knowledge you obtained when doing some background research on the company. When discussing your weakness, you can turn it around and make them seem positive. For example, if you say you pay close attention to detail, the employer may perceive you do not like to make mistakes.
