i) A carpenter is making 220 chairs each month, plans to increase its production. The number of chairs produced is to be increased by 20 each month from 220 in fist month to 240 in second month, to 260 in third month and so on, until it is producing 1200 in N month. After how many months its production will touch the figure of 1200

Given :
Initial number of chairs = 220
Increase in number of chair each month = 20
So this is Arithmetic progression sequence with
first number a = 220
common difference d = 20
We know that nth number of an AP is given as
?an?=a+(n−1)d?
Now we need to find number of month n such that production of chairs is 1200
?⇒? ?1200=220+(n−1)20?
?⇒? ?(n−1)20=980?
?⇒? ?n−1=49?
?⇒? ?n=50?
Therefore production of 1200 chairs will be achieved after 50 month .
